EFFSO is our latest product that enhances safety for every home that is equipped with a WHOLE HOME HVAC system. It works by taking advantage of the signal command given by the fire alarm when a fire/smoke is dedicated, which shuts down the 120V circuit feeding the furnace.
Whole-home HVAC systems can rapidly pull smoke from one room and distribute it throughout the house. By shutting down the furnace immediately, EFFSO helps keep smoke contained to the origin area, improving visibility and survivability.
-Helps prevent smoke from spreading through HVAC ductwork
-Reduces risk of smoke inhalation for occupants
-Adds protection without changing how the HVAC system operates daily
-Uses the home’s existing fire alarm signal — no extra sensors needed
-Protects the furnace and ductwork from smoke contamination
-Activates instantly with no homeowner action required
-Works in the background until an emergency occurs
-Practical safety upgrade for homes with whole-home HVAC systems
-Enhances overall fire safety beyond standard smoke alarms
-Works alongside the duct smoke detector to trigger the fire alarm when smoke is detected within the HVAC ductwork.
Designed for Large & High-End Homes
Most residential fire alarm systems are limited to a maximum of 12 interconnected alarms, as allowed by code. In large homes, custom builds, and multi-level residences, this limit quickly becomes a serious design constraint. Our unit eliminates that limitation.
Enables Code-Compliant Expansion Beyond 12 Alarms
Our system allows installers to safely and legally extend fire alarm coverage beyond the standard 12-device limit, while maintaining proper system for operation and compliance.
Key Advantages
- Eliminates the 12-device limitation inherent in standard residential interconnected fire alarm systems. Supports up to 32 fire alarms.
- Engineered for large and custom homes requiring expanded, code-compliant fire alarm coverage.
- Designed and built by electricians, with real-world installation and inspection experience.
- Manufactured in Canada, meeting North American safety and quality standards.
- Integrated battery backup ensures continued operation during power interruptions.
- Provides centralized, synchronized alarm activation across all connected devices.
- Simplifies installation and future expansion through a clean, installer-focused design.
- 1 year warranty.
The current management unit, CMU-02-240, allows you to maintain the existing 100-amp service for a residential house while supporting two large loads, such as a stove and an EV charging solution. This setup can also accommodate other substantial loads, which may necessitate a residential electrical upgrade.
• Does not require a hydro disconnect and reconnect
• Easy install (45 - 60 min)
• Approved by eSAFE for general use or as an EV charging solution
• Fully automated and does not require regular internal maintenance
• 1-year warranty
• Small size allows it to be placed beside panels
• Supports a 48A EV charger with a 60AMP breaker on a 100 AMP panel, making it ideal for a residential electrical upgrade
• Made in Canada
The CMU-240-03 and CMU-240-04 are automated load-management upgrades to the CMU-240 series, designed for seamless power sharing between two high-demand 240 V loads, such as EV chargers, electric stoves, or dryers, without the need to manually switch loads. Unlike the CMU-240-01, which uses a contractor-installed selector switch, these units automatically prioritize the primary load and intelligently manage the secondary load to prevent service overloads.
Using internal current sensing technology, the CMU-240-03 (for 30 A applications) and CMU-240-04 (for 40 A applications) continuously monitor both connected circuits. When the primary load draws above its rated threshold, the unit automatically disconnects the secondary load to maintain panel safety. When overall power demand drops below the set threshold, both loads can run simultaneously, maximizing available capacity without manual intervention.
Automatic load prioritization using real-time current monitoring
Supports two 30 A (03) or two 40 A (04) loads with intelligent switching
Enables simultaneous operation when total amperage allows
Eliminates the need for a manual selector switch — installs once and runs fully on its own
Helps avoid costly panel upgrades by managing circuit demand inside existing service limits
Made in Canada and engineered for dependable residential or light commercial use
